Garden Postin

So, one of my fav places to take a walk is the Public Gardens. It provides a nice escape from the city and is always beautifully landscaped. This old guy welcomes you to the park if you are coming into the 'center' enterance into the garden from the Commons. I'll be taking more walks around here takin' pix of skwerls and fun people in the future :)

Bridging the gap

I've got a job where I sit around a good part of the day tappin' on the keyboard like a monkay for the most part. I know, you are probably reading this saying "big F*ing deal, so do I...in fact I'm doing the same thing" and you are right...it's not a big deal. What is a big deal is that for most of us, this is a soul destroying experience. I try to stay human by doing the things I love outside of work like cooking and photography and, of course, spending time with my wonderful wife. But, how to make the day a bit more fun I ponder...how about going for a walk around lunch time and getting outside the climate controled environment of work and breathe some 'real' air? So, I've started doing that and since I've got a stupid amount of camera phone pix I can take I thought it'd be fun to take a pic or two every time I go out. I thought that people might like to keep up with my adventures...maybe not, but hey..keeps me focused if I can write this stuff down.

That said, last Friday I was taking a cooking class and had some free time before I met my wife (Stephanie) so I decided to walk from where I work over to Cambridge taking this route. Now, I've never actually walked the Longfellow Bridge from Boston to Cambridge before. What an incredible view...people were out boating and windsurfing and it is truly one of the best views of Boston

Crossing over the bridge I came into the Kendall/MIT area of Cambridge are where they have this neato water sculpture

This was about a 1.7 mile walk and took about 35 minutes. Good views and a nice location...plus Cambridge is super fun for people watching.
